Gombe South youths have reacted with excitement as 35-year-old Imrana Adamu, declared his intention to contest the State Assembly seat in the 2027 general elections.
Adamu made his declaration under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform during a press conference at the ADC state secretariat in Gombe.
His entry into the race signals what supporters describe as a push for dynamic, forward-thinking leadership in Gombe South.
Speaking at the event, Imrana Adamu said his decision to contest was not driven by personal ambition but by a deep sense of responsibility to improve lives in the region.
According to him, his agenda focuses on job creation, youth empowerment, improved healthcare and infrastructure to drive economic growth.
“Our representation will focus on job creation, healthcare, education and youth empowerment”, he promised.
The declaration received a major boost when two vehicles were donated by his youth supporters to his campaign organisation immediately after the press conference even as groups of youth rallied behind him.
The vehicles were handed over by the campaign chairman, Ibrahim S. Adams, to strengthen logistics and outreach ahead of the 2027 polls.
Gombe State ADC Chairman, Alhaji Auwal Abba Barde, praised Adamu’s track record and connection with the people of Gombe South.
“We are here today to witness the commitment of our candidate, Honourable Imrana Adamu, who has demonstrated that he is not just another political figure, but someone who has lived through the challenges of the people of Gombe South and has consistently worked to alleviate those challenges,” he stated.
Some youth said the donation of the vehicles is a testament to the faith his supporters have in him.
“His leadership promises a Gombe South that is progressive, youth inclusive and focused on the needs of the people”, they added.
Director-General of the Imrana Adamu Campaign Organisation, Zakari Garba Zakari, expressed gratitude for the support and pledged a campaign built on transparency and accountability.
“Today marks a crucial milestone in our campaign journey. The donation of these vehicles strengthens our resolve and ensures we are better equipped to reach every corner of Gombe South.
“Honourable Imrana Adamu’s vision for this constituency is one of hope, youth empowerment and sustainable development.
“We are committed to listening to the people, addressing their needs, and ensuring that every citizen of Gombe South has access to opportunities that would transform their lives for the better,” pledged.
