The 244 Councillors of Sokoto state under the auspices of National Council of Councillors Forum of Nigeria, Monday purchased nomination form for the reelection of governor Ahmed Aliyu worth 50 million naira.

 

Speaking on behalf of the councilor’s forum, the Sokoto State chapter chairman, Hon. Nura Umar Goronyo, said they were motivated to do so judging by the quality of good governance being experienced in the state.

 

According to him, they are the grassroots level being the closest to the rural dwellers have been compelled by the volume of developmental projects and human capital initiatives of the governor Ahmed Aliyu led administration hence the resolve to unanimously purchase the form for him.

 

“The purchase of the this form is a manifestation of our appreciation with the good works of the government of he day. We are very pleased with the programmes, initiatives, and policies of the Ahmed Aliyu led administration

 

“And I can tell you for certainty that no one in Sokoto today that is not happy with the government except those that does not like good things or non objective opposition figures”. Nura Goronyo maintained.

 

Talking on the leadership qualities of others seeking election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the Councillor’s Forum chairman, Alhai Nura, reassured that they are comfortable with their pedigrees.

 

Responding to the gesture, Sokoto state APC chairman, Hon. Haruna Sarkin Gobir Ajiya said the entire state is engulfed in joyous mood today seeing that the 244 councillors of the state saw the importance of coming together to buy form for the governor to continue his good works..

 

“As those closer to the masses, we are convinced that you have all witness the good works in your respective areas just as you have said. And we are pleased to hear such testimonies from you. And I can assure that, the governor will continue to do more when reelected come 2027,” he said.
