Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting journalists and media professionals in the state, describing the press as a critical partner in promoting transparency and good governance.

The governor made this known during the inauguration of the new executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists on Friday in Katsina.

Governor Radda said his administration recognises the vital role journalists play as a bridge between government and the people, assuring members of the union of continued support for their professional development.

“Journalism is vital to good governance. Journalists serve as the bridge between government and the people. We value your role and will continue to support your professional development,” the governor stated.

He congratulated the newly elected NUJ executives led by Aminu Garba Dandagoro and urged them to uphold professionalism while advancing the interests of journalism practice in the state.

The governor also commended the outgoing executive under Tukur DanAli for their service and contributions to strengthening the union.

He expressed confidence that the new leadership would build on existing achievements and further promote ethical journalism and media excellence across Katsina State.
