The Katsina State Police Command has disclosed that it recorded a total of 151 major criminal cases in April 2026, out of which 128 have already been charged to court following the conclusion of investigations.

The development was announced by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Aliyu Sadiq Abubakar on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, during a press briefing at the command headquarters.

According to the police, the cases handled within the period cut across a wide range of offences, including kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, drug trafficking, and culpable homicide.

The command noted that the high number of cases already charged to court reflects its commitment to ensuring diligent investigation and timely prosecution of criminal suspects.

The PPRO explained that the progress recorded was made possible through intelligence-led policing, improved investigative capacity, and strengthened collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders.

He added that the command remains focused on ensuring that all pending cases are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law, stressing that justice for victims and accountability for offenders remain top priorities.

While reaffirming its commitment to sustaining the tempo, the police urged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with credible information to enhance crime detection and prosecution across the state.
