Newly appointed Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Nya’k-Shendam, Plateau State, Engr Bongfa Binfa, has presented appointment letter to Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, in appreciation of his support, mentorship and facilitation of the opportunity to serve.
Dr Binfa expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy of the appointment and also appreciated Senator Lalong for his support and facilitation which contributed to the opportunity to serve the nation.
He assured Senator Lalong that he would do his best to reposition the Polytechnic and make it one of the fastest-growing and most impactful technical institutions in the country.
Dr Binfa also used the opportunity to congratulate Senator Lalong on the overwhelming support he has continued to receive following his acceptance of the nomination form to seek re-election into the Senate during the forthcoming 2027 General Elections.
Responding, Senator Lalong described the appointment as a good opportunity to reset the Polytechnic and make it a viable and sought-after institution for technical education and innovation.
He challenged the new Rector to immediately address critical issues that would facilitate effective learning and teaching, as well as improve the welfare of staff and students.
Lalong assured him of his continued support towards the growth of the institution, particularly in attracting funding and other interventions that will enhance infrastructure and academic development.
The Senator also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr Binfa and many other sons and daughters of Plateau State into various positions of responsibility across the country.
