The University of Calabar has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The Registrar of the university, Dr (Mrs) Chukwuka Icha, made this known in a statement sighted by DAYLIGHT REPORTERS in Calabar, Cross River capital, on Saturday.
Icha noted that the applications are open to candidates who selected the university as their first choice in the 2026/2027 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME and scored a minimum of 150.
The statement however added that “candidates who did not initially choose the institution but are interested in studying at the university are also eligible, provided they meet the minimum score requirement.
The university Registrar also explained that the registration portal is scheduled to open on Monday, June 1, 2026, while the deadline for registration has been fixed for July 31, 2026.
Icha further disclosed that the screening process has been fully digitised, eliminating the use of e-transact and scratch card PINs in favour of an online payment and registration system.
“Applicants are expected to visit the university’s official Post-UTME portal to validate their JAMB registration details, complete the registration form, and make a non-refundable payment of ₦2,000 through approved online payment channels, including ATM cards, bank transfers, and USSD services,” she said.
The Registrar also stressed the need for candidates to provide valid email addresses and active phone numbers during registration, warning that the university would not be held responsible for unsuccessful applications resulting from invalid contact information.
Icha noted that, the university reiterated that candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery must present O’Level results obtained in one sitting, in compliance with the CCMAS policy.
The Registrar warned that false declarations regarding UTME scores, O’Level grades, or state of origin would lead to automatic disqualification from the admission process.
